On the best of days, cycling outerwear is designed to keep warmth in by helping excess sweat and moisture evaporate through a porous shell. And taking this principle one step further, Santini drew inspiration from the airflow demands of sports cars. As a result, its Active Air Long Sleeve Jersey was designed to increase airflow to the body, keeping warm, dry, and comfortable. Constructed from the stretchable Thermo Fleece DB050 fabric, the Air Active jersey features a lightweight composition that’s perfect for both fall and spring temperatures. This shell features a thermofleece lining that wicks moisture away from your skin, transporting it towards the surface for rapid evaporation. And knowing that remaining dry is key to warmth, Santini enhanced the breathability of the Active Air jersey. Additionally, Santini included a series of overlapping elastic fabric bands that cover breathable mesh at the rear back upper-flanks of the jacket. Unlike one-dimensional panels of mesh that air rushes right over, these flaps function in a similar manner to intakes on sports cars that move air into the engine. Another analogy is to the gills of a fish. And because they’re designed to work in conjunction with body movement, you’ll feel enhanced airflow no matter how hard you’re riding. The jacket features raglan sleeves for increased shoulder flexibility, while also possessing articulated arms for comfort while in riding position. Knit cuffs fit cleanly under gloves, and the back tail has been elongated to keep you covered from wheel-spray. And to keep the fit in place, the hem features a silicone gripper pattern. The Active Air was finished with a full-length zipper, and three generous rear pockets to hold all of your riding essentials.
